except Thai and U.S. official holidays

FOR U.S. CITIZEN EMERGENCIES: To report the death, arrest, or serious injury of a U.S. citizen in Northern Thailand, please call us.  During business hours, call:

After business hours or on weekends or holidays, call our duty officer directly:

Please reserve these numbers for true emergencies only.  If you call about a situation that is not an emergency, we will ask you to contact us via the non-emergency methods below.

FOR NON-EMERGENCY U.S. CITIZEN SERVICES: We handle routine services, such as passport services, notarials, and federal benefits inquiries, by appointment only.  Please visit our ACS Appointments page to make an appointment for non-emergency services.  Also, please visit our Services and Information page to review the application procedures and fees for routine services.

LOCATION: The Consulate is located in Chiang Mai City at 387 Wichayanond Road, across the street from the Chiang Mai Municipality building. Google map.  Please note that there is no public parking available at the Consulate.  

SECURITY NOTICE: Consulate security procedures require that all visitors submit to inspection before entering the Consulate.  You may not bring luggage, electronics (including mobile phones or PDAs), or photographic equipment into the Consulate.  You may check small electronic items at the Consulate gate
