NOTICE TO U.S. CITIZENS

The United States Consulate General in Chiang Mai recently received the following notice from the Royal Thai Government’s Department of Business Development. At their request, we are disseminating it so American citizens in Thailand are aware of Thai government policy regarding investment by foreign nationals in farming and real estate.
If you are concerned about the impact of this policy on your personal situation, we recommend that you consult an attorney who is competent in Thai law. Such an attorney can give you legal advice tailored to your situation. The Consulate maintains a list of local attorneys interested in representing American citizens or firms.
